GODGIVEN VOICES
OFFICIAL EPK / PRESS BIOGRAPHY
AWARD-WINNING SOUTH AFRICAN GOSPEL • R&B • SOUL • CONTEMPORARY GROUP
Godgiven Voices is an award-winning South African music group based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, founded by Godgiven Buthelezi, a Mpumalanga-born recording artist, songwriter, producer, worshipper, minister, and entrepreneur.
The group has built its identity around a compelling fusion of Gospel, R&B, Soul, Urban, and Contemporary music, combining powerful vocal performances, meaningful songwriting, inspirational messages, and modern production.
At the heart of Godgiven Voices is a simple but powerful philosophy: music should not only entertain — it should inspire, uplift, encourage, and leave a lasting impact.
Their music explores universal themes of faith, hope, love, perseverance, ambition, resilience, gratitude, spiritual growth, personal transformation, and the realities of everyday life, allowing the group to connect with audiences across different generations and backgrounds.
THE BREAKTHROUGH
Godgiven Voices’ journey reached a defining milestone with their iconic hit single “Noma Ngina Zero.”
The record quickly developed a strong connection with audiences and radio programmers, earning significant airplay and exposure across South Africa. The song received support from major broadcasters including SABC Ukhozi FM, SABC Umhlobo Wenene FM, SABC Ligwalagwala FM, Power 98.7, Kaya 959, Rise FM, Capricorn FM, as well as numerous other commercial, public, and community radio stations.
What began as a powerful song of faith and perseverance ultimately became a career-defining record for the group.
INGOMA 13 – SONG OF THE YEAR WINNER
The impact of “Noma Ngina Zero” culminated in one of the biggest achievements of Godgiven Voices’ career to date.
Godgiven Voices won Song of the Year at the Ingoma 13 Awards for “Noma Ngina Zero.”
The victory officially elevated the song from a breakthrough release to an award-winning signature record, while establishing Godgiven Voices as an emerging force within South Africa’s Gospel and contemporary music landscape.
For the group, the award represents more than a trophy. It is a testament to perseverance, faith, consistency, and the power of continuing to pursue a vision despite challenges and outside opinions.
TIKTOK (LET THEM TALK)
THE NEW CHAPTER
Following the success of Noma Ngina Zero and their Ingoma 13 Song of the Year victory, Godgiven Voices & Godgiven Buthelezi have entered a new creative chapter with their latest album, TikTok (Let Them Talk).
The title track, “TikTok (Let Them Talk),” delivers a message that is deeply connected to the group’s own journey.
The song speaks about the voices of people who discourage others from pursuing their dreams and reaching their goals. Rather than allowing negativity, criticism, doubt, or outside opinions to determine their destiny, the song encourages listeners to keep moving forward.
Its central message is simple:
Let them talk. Keep pushing. Keep believing. Keep going.
The message carries particular significance following the group’s journey with Noma Ngina Zero. The same determination expressed in the song mirrors the group’s decision to continue pursuing their musical vision until they ultimately achieved one of their greatest milestones — winning Song of the Year at the Ingoma 13 Awards.
Tiktok (Let Them Talk) therefore becomes more than a song title. It represents an attitude of perseverance and a declaration that negativity does not have to define the outcome of one’s journey.
The new album features the current Godgiven Voices lineup of Godgiven Buthelezi, Philani Cele, and Qiniso Gumede, showcasing the group’s continued evolution while maintaining the faith-driven and inspirational foundation that has shaped its identity.
